The Panthers are building a culture at PVI that combines dedication to academics and hockey to make it the best high school program for hockey families with an interest in Catholic school. Panthers hockey is an important step in the future of PVI student-athletes. Players are provided with avenues to succeed both on and off the ice. The Panthers hockey roster is held to a high standard of leadership, academic excellence, and moral integrity. This culture and tradition will lead to success on the ice AND in the classroom while preparing students for successful futures. The PVI hockey legacy is only possible with the support of institutional leadership, parents, and most importantly the commitment of our players. PVI is one of the few schools in the area to recognize hockey as a varsity letter sport, while also providing monetary assistance to offset the cost of ice time which allows the team to practice throughout the season.
PVI Hockey alumni have gone on to play hockey for Avon Old Farms Prep School, Christopher Newport University, Dickinson College, Fordham University, George Mason University, George Washington University, Kent Prep School, Liberty University, Mount St. Mary’s University, Northern Virginia Community College, Old Dominion University, Radford University, Towson University, University of Connecticut, University of South Carolina, University of Virginia, Villanova University, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia University.
